The School, Home & Office Products Association's Kids In Need Foundation has appointed a search firm to hire a new executive director after its current executive director Scott Walters submitted his resignation, effective May 27, to accept a position with the National Arthritis Foundation. Founded in 1995, the SHOPA Kids In Need Foundation is the philanthropic arm of SHOPA. In its 10-year history, the foundation has distributed more than $150 million in products and grants to 1.1 million impoverished students and 65,000 classroom teachers. It has also attracted the support of companies like Target, Wal-Mart, Staples, Office Depot, OfficeMax, Rite Aid, 3M, Mead-Westvaco and Coca Cola.
